Las Vegas, 2014 April 10, NAB – Colorfront (www.colorfront.com), the Academy and Emmy Award-winning developer of high-performance, dailies and transcoding systems for motion pictures, high-end episodic television and commercials, today introduced the latest 2014 versions of its industry-leading dailies software – Express Dailies 2014 and On-Set Dailies 2014 with the new Transkoder option. Colorfront will show both new products during NAB 2014 in Las Vegas.
Colorfront On-Set Dailies and Express Dailies are the most widely adopted on-set dailies processing systems, used by elite Hollywood production suppliers, blockbuster motion pictures and high-end episodic TV shows.
The 2014 versions of Express Dailies and On-Set Dailies introduce Colorfront Engine, a brand new color pipeline with a range of easy-to-use features – Master Looks, Look Blender, Camera Color, UltraScaler and Dynamic Enhancer – that users can deploy to grade and finesse 4K and UltraHD footage, whilst also guaranteeing color integrity in the production-to-post workflow.
The 2014 versions of Express Dailies and On-Set Dailies now support a host of additional camera formats, including: GPU-accelerated RED de-Bayering, Sony SLog3 and SGamut3 color spaces, ARRI Alexa OpenGate 3.4K and 4K, ARRI Amira color processing, the new Canon Cinema Gamut, Panasonic VariCam 35, BMD CinemaDNG formats including 4K, accelerated ProRes including 4K formats, MagicLantern RAW, and DSLR stills-cameras.
Express Dailies 2014 can now work with output resolutions up to 4K, and video output on QuadHD/4K displays, while multiple systems can be seamlessly integrated together as a workgroup using a shared database.
Colofront has further leveraged performance via support for the New MacPro workstation, with full OpenCL acceleration, and AJA’s Io4K and Kona4 cards.
Express Dailies and On-Set Dailies can now both be used to create new deliverables with the latest, ultra-fast Apple ProRes rendering, robust x264 encoder for superlative H.264 encoding, and new High Efficiency Video Codec (HEVC) encoding and decoding. Additional conform, metadata import/export, and powerful search functions make both programs easier and faster to use.
Key features of the new Transkoder options for On-Set Dailies 2014 include:
– fully-accelerated Colorfront ‘G2K’ GPU-based JPEG2000 encoder/decoder
– extreme DCP and IMF encoding/decoding performance
– a fully-featured DCP and IMF authoring toolset
– MXF support for Op1A and OpAtom, AS-02, AS-03, AS-11 DPP formats
