Colorfront will be at the Hollywood Post Alliance Tech Retreat at the Hyatt Regency hotel in Palm Springs between February 20 – 24, 2017.

Colorfront will be demoing in the Innovation Zone our HDR mastering and remastering tools that allow mapping a range of standard dynamic range content to high dynamic range TVs and displays.

Colorfront will introduce the latest in HDR mastering technologies at HPA 2017, including HDR mastering, conversion, QC. Working with HDR10, HDR10PLUS, Dolby Vision, PQ and HLG variable encoding, the latest toolset in the Colorfront Transkoder system allows mastering for any and all of these formats, in the most efficient way.

The latest toolset will be unveiled, dealing with SMPTE ST2094-xx dynamic HDR metadata, calculating light level statistics, converting between HDR levels and SDR. The Colorfront Transkoder utilizes state of the art GPU-accelerated processing. We will show real-time playback on single or multiple (concurrent) UHD HDR displays, HDR specific IMF mastering, QC, and validation using the latest SMPTE standards.

Colorfront Transkoder 2017

Transkoder 2017 is the latest release of Colorfront's standalone mastering system for UHDTV, HDR, and digital cinema and production. The version 2017 is now in preview, and is currently on track to a NAB 2017 launch and a spring release.

Colorfront 2017 continues to leap forward on IMF mastering. New features include, integrated photon validation, enhanced IMSC1 generation and text rendering playback. Advanced composition play list (CPL) editing and rehashing of modified packages. Other newly added features include more intricate editing of HDR specific metadata and MCA labelling.

Colorfront Transkoder is the now the market leader system for file-based HDR delivery for episodic television and feature films. The new 2017 version further enhances tools for DCP and IMF mastering, including: the industry's highest performance and quality JPEG2000 encoding and decoding, 32-bit floating point processing on multiple GPUs, MXF wrapping, accelerated checksums, AES encryption and decryption, IMF/IMP and DCI/DCP package authoring, editing and trans-wrapping.
